The only tutoring experience I've had has been accidental, like teaching a kid who's seriously afraid of the water how to swim. I'm quite adept at getting past a student's psychological blocks to teach new things. I'm very good at adapting my thought processes and reading people in order to teach and get along with them. Kids of all ages seem to be one of my forte's, as all I have to do is mentally downshift a little. As far as I can tell, I come across as a big lovable dork to children. The real challenge to teaching is figuring out how each student thinks, and then explain things in terms that will make sense to them specifically. I'm good at it, but I need to spend time watching, listening, and asking questions before I can be really effective at it.
